ABOUT MAJDA

Studio Svitogora is a concept created by photographer Majda Rožić, representing a body of work that explores our sensual nature and one's fragile relationship with the ever-changing external world, striving to preserve humanness and enchantment. The term Svitogora is formed of two Croatian words: "svitanje" (dawn) and "gora" (mountain). In Croatian mythology, it is the home of gods.

     Born in Split, Croatia, in 1972, Majda graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Split – English language and literature and Italian language and literature. Used to work as a teacher and translator. Photographing people since 2006. Member of the Croatian Association of Visual artists Split. Currently living and working in Kastela, Croatia.
